Sinopse
On Christmas Eve, little Clara receives an inanimate object as a gift: a nutcracker. Hugging it, she falls asleep and dreams of a fantastical world where toys come to life. Surrounded by toy soldiers, mice, and giant dolls, and guided by the Nutcracker, now transformed into a Prince, Clara confronts her desires and fears.
Ballet performance
This story by Hoffmann inspired Marius Petipa to create a dance version in 1892. Later, in 1985, Rudolf Nureyev revived the ballet at the Paris Opera, with sets and costumes that highlighted the uniqueness of the story. Snowflakes, flowers, and enchanted landscapes serve as a backdrop for dazzling choreography, while Clara's dreams come to life to the rhythm of Tchaikovsky's brilliant soundtrack.
