Composed in Imperial Russia in the late 19th century, Raymonda remains a great timeless Russian ballet, perpetuating the tradition of classical dance in all its splendor.

Raymonda is betrothed to the valiant Jean de Brienne, who has sworn to join the army of the King of Hungary on a crusade. When her beloved departs, Abderakhman, a foreign knight, approaches Raymonda and threatens to kidnap her when she refuses to give him her hand in marriage…
