Synopsis

Despite the hatred between their families, Romeo and Juliet are deeply in love. The rivalry between the Capulets and the Montagues will cost Romeo the life of his best friend, awakening in him a deadly desire for revenge.

The tragic fate of the star-crossed lovers inspired Prokofiev to create an extraordinary, highly cinematic score. The composer moves the listener deeply, from Juliet's delicate theme to the terrifying Dance of the Knights.
